  1. Find your app in the list

  2. Here you have (from top to bottom, from left to right):

    1. App name (My test app 1)

    2. Overview - show analytics \ statistic from your app. For now app it’s empty. Here you can select date range, city or specific location.

    3. Content - here we’ll have list of settings for any kind of apps. So for changing any settings you need to go to this tab

    4. Settings - setting for the app itself. Here you can change name, provider, GridApp version or type of app (warning! Most likely you never need to change type of the app. Note: WPA is mistype, it should be PWA)

    5. Builds - list of builds for you app. When you click “Save changes” after you can press “Deploy”. It will create a new build which you can find later in this section. For the new app this section is empty

    6. Environment variables - list of key \ value pairs. Empty at the start

    7. Here you can find browsers attached to the app. We’ll talk about them in details in this article (please ping Alexey Khorev if article isn’t linked)

    8. Compute devices - list of real devices, attached to the app. From here you can navigate to device settings and set it up. How to move device (please ping Alexey Khorev if article isn’t linked)

Now we got small overview of what we have, lets try to setup our app. For this

  1. Go to Content

  2. If you want a simple playlist with a few items:

    1. Press Add for Items section

    2. Add an assets and set duration.

    3. Repeat the operation for the second image (press Add for Items section for adding a new item).

    4. At the ned you should have something like this:

    5. Press Save changes

    6. Press publish for deploying you changes on device. If it asks to deploy on Prod it’s fine, just set the same type for your device (if you don’t have a device the type doesn’t matter right now, just be sure we’ll put the same type for device when you set it up).

    7. If you want to play around with triggers check section below. Otherwise - we have our first app! Lets try it out on the device. We will add a new one if we don’t have any (link, pls ping Alexey Khorev) or go to an existing one (link, pls ping Alexey Khorev).

  3. If we want to play around with triggers we need:

    1. Select “Trigger”, set DATE (for example).

    2. Put Start date (from today for example) until some specific date in future.

    3. Add items. Here add media type. By this step you should have something like this:

    4. Now we need to add a new assets. Press “Pick assets” and select the media for using. You can download it right now or select an existing item. You can read about media library here.

    5. Put duration. At the end it should look like this:

    6. Don’t forget to add main items.

    7. Save changes and deploy them (please check point 2.g from this section)
